The crisp, sharp air that feels like it gets right down into your lungs. The crunch of leaves under your feet. The oh-so-rosy cheeks. The perfect golden light. The squirrels darting around gathering up as much as they can. And, of course, the colours. The amazing rainbows of colour. My absolute favourite time of year to photograph children and families.

SO much natural beauty begging to be photographed… and SO much fun to be had for children outdoors. It’s fair to say that I come home from most Autumn Family Photoshoots at this time of year with leaves sticking to my back and in my hair… perhaps an odd twig or two as well. But I’m always happy. Happy in the knowledge that I’ve captured something really special for families and that the kids have had a good time as well.

We’re blessed with so many places that have fab Autumn colour here in Surrey (plus in surrounding Berkshire and Hampshire!) – and if you know somewhere I don’t, then I always love discovering and exploring new places with families too!
