I apologise for neglecting this blog over the slightly manic month of April…. but I have lots of lovely Photo Sessions which I am hoping to get blogged over the next few weeks to make up for it.
First up is a Maternity Photo Session which was organised through the charity ‘Count the Kicks’. This charity is doing some amazing work to raise awareness of the almost taboo subject of late miscarriage, stillbirth and neonatal death. Their aim is to both inform and empower Mums with knowledge and confidence during their pregnancy and to ensure every Mum has the confidence to call for advice if she is ever worried at all.
As part of their campaign to raise awareness and funds, Count the Kicks is producing a 2012 ‘Bump’ calendar, which will feature some amazing photography of blossoming bumps around the country! I was delighted to get involved in this worthy cause and donate a free Maternity Photo Session and was even more delighted when I was contacted by a mum-to-be who was already around the 34 week mark, which is the ideal time to have some glowing pregnancy portraits done. Plus, she wanted to have the dad-to-be included as well, which I always love.
Our Session took place just before this amazing-almost-like-summer weather came along. What we got instead was a bit of a grey day with drizzle! However, this fab couple really were great fun and definitely up for getting the most out of their Session. As well as getting some seasonal shots for entries for the calendar, I captured some beautiful portraits of them together. Here are some of my favourites – isn’t this bump just gorgeous!

I do hope you have the chance to go back and see this little bubba as he or she grows! The picture with the blossom – along with the colours she’s wearing – is soooo beautiful. And the last one is just serene 🙂
