Blooming Beautiful!

There is definitely a sniff of Spring in the air, which always makes me think about new beginnings. I am seeing gorgeous pregnant ladies wherever I go at the moment, which has led me to this blog post – its about something I feel quite passionately about although you don’t see so much of here in the UK: Maternity Photography.

If I talk about pregnancy photography, people often mention Demi Moore and the very famous magazine cover she did way back. Of course, this is a stunning portrait but I feel it may have given rather an skewed reflection of maternity photography and what it involves!

For me, what it is about is celebration… a celebration of the amazing little baby that you are nurturing and growing and a celebration of the first stage of becoming a parent. Becoming a parent is an amazing journey that I am personally very enthusiastic about and is probably why I love capturing portraits of this stage of your life.

So, just for the record, Maternity Photography does not have to involve taking your clothes off, or even unveiling your bump (unless you want to of course!). I love to create contemporary and unique portraits that record an incredible journey that has just started. Images that you will look back on and treasure and your children-to-be will treasure too.
