I love love LOVE how photos being back snippets of time as if it was yesterday. That is the power of photography and that’s one of the many reasons I love it.
In honour of St. Patrick’s Day, I decided to delve back in to my photo archives from a few years ago, where we were lucky enough to stay with friends who live in Ireland, not far from Dublin. Immediately I was transported back to the beautiful tranquility of the rolling landscape, the wide open empty beaches, the laughs we had with our friends, the simple pleasures of our children playing together, and the amazing friendliness of the Irish.
It’s amazing how images can make you remember all the little moments too….
the biggest prawns I have EVER had….. my introduction to a night out in an Irish local pub (where I swear the drinks just kept mysteriously appearing in front of me and I had no idea who they were coming from)…. buying fresh fish from the little fish shed after the boat had come in…. and the cold blustery day on the beach when man appeared from nowhere in a pair of speedos carrying a big fishing net to go shrimping, accompanied by his dog (we were wearing jeans, jumpers and body warmers!)
Great times, good memories. You can’t ask for more from a photo. And if you’re reading Ciara & John, thanks for the craic xxx
